Project description

Chelsea Road is very flat with deterioration caused by water sitting on the road pavement and along the kerb and channel. The existing asphalt road pavement has large cracks and general unevenness causing an inadequate ride for all road users. Chelsea Road is integral to flood management for the local area and will incorporate significant drainage upgrade along with the road reconstruction.

The proposed scope of works will involve: •Reconstruct the existing road pavement between Drinan Road and Beardsworth Avenue to improve crossfall and flooding capacity on the road •Construct a major drainage system from the flooding problem at the Drinan Road intersection to a major storage system along Chelsea Road together with the upgrade of the overall street drainage This will involve twin 1350mm pipes and minor drainage of 225mm to 375mm drainage pipes. •The replacement of all kerb and channel, vehicle crossings and footpath in Chelsea Road.

Total cost of proposed project is $2,421,442
