Project description

Jalan Rel is the main thoroughfare from the jetty to the town centre. Jalan Rel is dual purpose, used by heavy traffic to transport to haul freight from the port to Home Island businesses and provides a link for pedestrians from the ferry to the town centre. Road is also a school bus route. Current pavers and flush kerbs are in poor condition and breaking up making it unsafe for traffic and trip hazards for pedestrians.

The pavers and the flush kerb will be removed. Install new reinforced flush kerbs and existing pavers will be replaced by heavy duty pavers designed for heavy traffic.

Total cost of proposed project is $320,568
