Project description

This project will realign the existing Eugowra Road by offsetting the access road to the Mugincoble Silos, approximately 55 metres north.

Improved freight productivity (and access to freight gateways

Funding

The Australian Government have committed $3.8 million to the project.

Timetable

Construction is expected to commence early 2026 and be completed late 2026.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
