Project description

The key problem to be addressed is the replacement of the existing timber bridge with a concrete structure to future-proof local access for approximately 98 individual properties; is a school bus route; and the main access road for one of largest employers of the area, Tassal Fish Farms. Auspan, bridge management specialists have assessed the bridge to be at end of life, the proposed solution meets current design standards and offers a viable solution to the replacement of a now defunct piece of infrastructure. The wooden bridge being replaced is a single lane bridge, which no longer caters for the growing population of the area and heavy vehicle movements from a major employer, the Tassal fish farm. The proposed solution will provide a a safer long term solution and as a concrete structure will have a longer useful life.

Replacement of an existing timber bridge with concrete, bridge road approaches to be upgraded as required and possible widening of the bridge deck (final quotes for this additional cost is still to be confirmed). All costs above allocation will be paid by Council.

Total cost of proposed project is $232,765
