Project description

The road bend located within these Straight Line Kilometres is narrow with inadequate line of site and a steep super-elevation; all of which creates the opportunity for vehicular conflict with many 'near misses' occurring in the past. In addition this section of road has been worn down to a sandy sub-grade over time exposing a culvert that crosses at the midpoint of this section of road. This a school bus route in addition to a heavy haulage route.

Marginally widen the road, raise the road level of the inside curve, thus reducing the super-elevation, and gravel re-sheet the entire section with 150mm of gravel compacted to 100mm.
