Project description

Pavement failure evidenced by crocodile cracking, subsidence. pavement surface is reaching the end of its life evidenced by stripping, oxidation, cracking. Sunken and dilapidated sections of kerb & gutter.

100mm heavy patching at failed pavement sections and 50mm resheeting entire road from gutter to gutter. Reconstruct sunken and dilapidated kerb & gutter sections and reconstruct cracked and displaced footpath slabs. In addition, reinstatement of line marking.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
