Project description

The current surface on this street is aged with signs of significant deterioration in particular areas. There are multiple areas of minor to moderate cracking. There are also multiple areas of existing pothole repairs and other large patch repairs and several areas of localised depressions (predominately adjacent to the kerbs).

Undertake a full width Mill and Replace. On completion reinstate all fire hydrant and sluice valve markers as well as all linemarking.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
