Project description

Programmed reseal of road surface to ensure road service levels are being maintained by Council to minimum required standards. The reseal of this section of Kerrs Road, currently in overall surface condition of 3.75 (Fair to Moderate) with 20-30% estimated residual life remaining, will return the surface to a condition rating 1 (Very Good). Renewing the road surface to a service level of 1 will ensure no or insignificant surface defects are apparent requiring only routine maintenance of the asset.

Reseal 3.88 km of pavement surface with 10mm spray seal and PMB binder. Repaint line marking where required.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
