Project description

The project has been identified to address the community concerns identified through a high number of customer requests received in relation to drainage issues and vehicle safety concerns relating to the intersection at MacKay and Rowan Street’s, Wangaratta. Existing drainage is not sufficiently capturing stormwater runoff. The drainage is in poor condition and has been impacted by existing Plane trees. Leaf litter and root damage are blocking the drainage network, creating a significant flood issue in frequent rain fall events.

• Drainage network upgrade along MacKay Street to improve water capture and reduce frequent flash flooding in high rainfall events. • Installation of new kerb and channel. • Installation of new road pavement along MacKay Street and the service lane of Rowan Street.
