Project description

This project will upgrade the Adelaide Metropolitan Passenger Rail Network (AMPRN) Automatic Train Protection (ATP) signalling system.

Benefits

Through automation, the project will decrease the amount of time spent at level crossings increasing capacity at peak times. The project will improve safety, reliability and efficiency of both the rail and road networks.

Funding

The Australian Government is funding on a 50:50 ratio in conjunction with the SA Government.

Timetable

Construction is due to commence in early 2026 and is expected to be completed by late 2026.
