Project description

This access road was used to access the old Yalata Roadhouse which was closed in early 2000s and the building condemned. Since then the access road had not maintained resulting in poor surface and water drainage.

We are proposing to have the access road levelled, with new road base rubble, fulling in the number of large potholes and create water coverts directing water to the existing drainage location at either side of the site.

Total cost of proposed project is $103,350

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
