Project description

The intersection of Solitary Islands Way and Centenary Drive, Woolgoolga was deemed to be insufficient and lacking, to accommodate the projected traffic volume and complexity of traffic movement associated with the Wiigulga Sports Complex, Solitary Islands Way and Centenary Drive.

Reconfiguration of the intersection of Solitary Islands Way and Centenary Drive, Woolgoolga, to include a 4-way signalised intersection with a new local access road. This work requires the placement of trunk and localised drainage, road formation and pavement widening, new kerb and gutter, traffic signals and asphalt wearing surface.

Total cost of proposed project is $7,253,434

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
