Project description

The road surface of Coach Road sustained significant damage last wet season resulting in multiple washouts for a total chainage of 60M. this road is a moderate traffic sealed rural road that is used by residents, primary producers and school buses. The road surface has incurred signficant enough damage that it poses a safety risk to motorists and if not repaired prior to wet season will become uninsurable. This the raises Coomalie Community Goverment councils Risk Profile to an unacceptable level.

The main washout is a 20M section of road that has previously been rebitumened with with no lasting results. It is proposed that a chainage of 25M of road surface be removed and establish a wider road margin with improved stabilisation and finished with a double seal to ensure road pavement can cope with annual waterflow. Smaller Washouts in the same 60M area will be reprofiled and rebitumened to ensure security and safety in this section of road for this year and recommendation to Council to seek funding to extend and improve efficency of current drainage culvert in this section.
