Project description

The project will construct a road overpass bridge across the Melbourne-Geelong Railway line connecting Ison Road with the proposed Ison Road Extension. The project will construct: • A four-lane overpass (approximately 500m) with a design speed of 80km/h • Overpass embankment formation and bridge deck future-proofed for six lanes • Shared User Path, on-road bike lanes on both carriageways, as well as a cycle path under the overpass on the northern side • Median barrier between carriageways • Barriers between the traffic lanes and Shared User Path on both carriageways. • Anti-throw screens

Funding

The Australian and Victorian Governments have both committed $57 million towards a total project cost of $114 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in late 2023 and is expected to be complete in late 2026.
