Project description

The business case will explore options to upgrade the Western Highway between Melton and Caroline Springs including assessing road safety risks, congestion and delays, and producing future proof upgrades.

Benefits

Benefits will be investigated as part of development works, however an upgrade at this location would improve road safety, network efficiency, provide economic opportunities and increase liveability.

Funding

The Australian Government is contributing $10 million and the Victorian Government is contributing $10 million for a combined total project cost of $20 million.

Timetable

Development works commenced in April 2023 and are expected to be completed in late 2025.
