Project description

The intersection of Dalrymple Road and Industry exhibits substandard alignment (both vertical and horizontal). Currently does not meet AustRoads requirements. Narrow carriage way, poor pavement, poor visibility and deficient junction alignment.

Proposed works for this section of Dalrymple Road to include reconstruction, widening and realignment of intersection with Industry Road, including delineation, widening and resealing of approximately 0.50kms South to compliment recent road widening upgrades at same location. May include land acquisition to improve safety and intersection alignment.

Total cost of proposed project is $850,000

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
