Project description

The road surface is showing signs of fatigue and requires replacement. The work program will improve the existing surface. This road is the continuation of Ables Bay Road, which provides the primary access to the coastal communities of Eggs and Bacon Bay and Randalls Bay.

Repair defects, edge breaks and required patch corrections prior to applying a single coat reseal- for 1000 meter x 5.5meters. Clean out table drains, install guide posts and replace signage.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
