Bridge 3318A is due for scheduled 5-year preventative maintenance.

5-year preventative maintenance according to Main Roads WA Document No: 6706-02-2226 (Timber Bridge Maintenance and Refurbishment - Preventive Maintenance Standards). Includes Timber end-grain Sealing, Fastener Maintenance, Ground line Treatment of Piles, Waterline Treatment of Piles in Permanent Water, Treat Abutment Bed logs and Bearers.

Total cost of proposed project is $87,420

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
