Project description

This is an urban residential area in Bourke, but the shoulder of the road has never been sealed. This causes drainage problems and difficulty for residents trying to access their property during and after wet weather events as they attempt to traverse the saturated unsealed shoulder. This also causes ongoing maintenance costs for Council.

Add additional gravel to the unsealed road section and mix it in to the existing gravel pavement. Compact the mixed material to match the existing levels of the sealed pavement and the kerb and gutter. Provide a temporary 7 mm bitumen emulsion Primer seal followed by a later 10mm hot bitumen spray Final seal.
