Project description

NAmoi Street ahs been constructed in gravel but never sealed. This causes problems to the residents who have to access their property during and after wet weather events. The pavement rapidly deteriorates under traffic in wet weather, causing problems for the residents trying to access their properties and for Council trying to maintain the road.

Add additional gravel to the unsealed road and mix it in to the existing gravel pavement. Compact the mixed material to match the existing levels of the sealed pavement and the kerb and gutter. Provide a temporary 7 mm bitumen emulsion Primer seal followed by a later 10mm hot bitumen spray Final seal.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
