Project description

All weather community access to residences and sealing of dirt road to reduce dust pollutants in adjoining residential properties.

The works proposed are to prepare subgrade and lay a paved road with concrete edge restraint to match existing township roads. Approx 540m2 in total area. Seal width of approx 4200mm wide x 13000mm in length, chainage commencing from Ngurrin St at chainage 0 (14.90149106S 141.62106358E) and ending at Pupwarrangan St at chainage 130 (14.90258573S 141.62161164E).

Total cost of proposed project is $166,582

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
