Project description

The road surface has reached its end of life with reconstruction required to maintain an acceptable level of surface. The road surface is failing and undulating due to its age and reactive clay soils prevalent in the sub base. The replacement of a watermain at the northern end of Stradbroke Road has accelerated the pavement failure in this area.

Work proposed includes a deep lift the existing pavement of the moving lanes to a depth of 100 mm and applying a reinforced hotmix seal of 2 x 50 mm to the surface. Kerbing will be replaced where required and Improvements to the existing road shape will provide improved runoff for stormwater. The final surface would provide a smoother and safer experience for all vehicles.

Total cost of proposed project is $988,000
