Project description

The project will develop a Final Business Case to progress planning for the Eastern Ring Road and Badgerys Creek South. These two roads will deliver a priority north-south corridor for commuter, freight, public transport and active travel east of the Western Sydney International Airport.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $12.5 million towards the project.

The project is expected to commence early 2025 and be completed by mid 2027.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
