Project description

Significant failures in the existing area have progressively worsened, making it increasingly challenging to maneuver machinery, such as forklifts, cranes, excavators, and light vehicles, in a safe and efficient manner. These vehicles are essential for delivering services to the local community. If these issues are not addressed promptly, there may be safety risks for local community users. The area is a multi-purpose facility, and its inefficiency could rapidly lead to a decline in infrastructure delivery and maintenance services across the island.

The reconstruction of approximately 300 square meters will adhere to the Lord Howe Island Road design specifications. This includes a 150mm cement-stabilized base course, utilizing the existing base layer and supplemented with additional DGB20 as necessary, with cement content at 1.5% by volume. A two-coat seal comprising 10mm and 7mm aggregate will be applied using an emulsion binder.

Total cost of proposed project is $213,461
