Project description

Cracked and deteriorated road surface.

Mill existing wearing course, repair failed areas with heavy patching, replace wearing course with new asphalt re-sheet. Funding: Waverley Council expects that the Project will cost a total of $60,000. Up to $10,000 will be funded by the RTR funds, to meet the annual total of $361,163. As such, the remaining expected $50,000 will be funded by Council in FY24-25.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
