Project description

Jungawa Road is 12.60 kilometres long and is only access to the Douglas Daly Research Farm. The farm investigates and research the development and extension of agriculture in the Northern Territory. The first 9.25 kilometres of Jungawa Road are sealed. The remaining 3.35 kilometres are unsealed and often restrict the access of vehicles due to wet season. This project will complete the sealing of the entire road.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
