Project description

The current pavement on the Link Road is failing and requires rehabilitation to ensure the surface is safe for the heavy vehicles and general public travelling across this road.

Rehabilitation of current pavement across the entire length of Link Road is proposed. Rehabilitation works will predominately include stabilisation between chainage 0 to 1.6 km followed by a reseal along the whole length between chainage 0 to chainage 6.5 km.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
