Project description

Sections of the existing bitumen edges are in poor condition and the shoulders are in poor condition, the existing seal between Straight Line Kilometre 9.73 and 10.87 is in poor condition.

Rehabilitate the unsealed shoulders and reseal the bitumen edges, reseal the section between Straight Line Kilometre 9.73 and 10.87, place centre lines and barrier marking for overtaking, place new guideposts as required. The Shire of Manjimup is contributing $20,000 to this project.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
