Project description

Asphalt road surface deterioration (oxidation, rutting, crack removal), pothole removal and reshaping road profile including footpath and kerb and channel renewal.

Road pavement rehabilitation. Asphalt road resurfacing. Partial roto-milling and disposal of old surface and resurfacing with bitumen. Install deep lift asphalt in selected areas including footpath and kerb and channel renewal. Project cost to be part funded by council cash.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
