Project description

The existing road surface is affected by various defects, especially by severe cracking and pavement deformations. It is old and rough due to numerous surface defects. Some kerb and gutter sections have been displaced by tree roots.

Proposed treatment includes repair of isolated sections of kerb and gutter, replacement of road base with asphalt and resurfacing of the road with asphalt. Length =320 m; Width = 7.2 m Area = 2304 m2. The project will be jointly funded by Roads to Recovery and City of Parramatta Council.

Total cost of proposed project is $247,222

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
