Project description

Wide ranging cracking (longitudinal, transverse), numerous patches and depressions including the roadway channel, rutting along wheel paths at approach to intersections and fatigue appearance and pavement failing in sections.

Profile: 50 mm (full width) and Resurface: Wearing Course - full width with 50 mm size 10 mm aggregate Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) including lift and reset wide pitcher channel in sections. Source of joint funding: The City of Melbourne will fund the balance between the nominated Cost to RTR allocation and the Total Project Cost from its Roadway Renewal Budget.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
