Project description

Polo Flat Road is a Regional Road and it is a vital connection road that bypasses the town between Monaro Highway from Canberra to Bombala. This road is a major industrial road in the area which is being used considerably by Snowy Hydro industry as they have their Segment factory along with various other important industries on the road such as Monaro wool, H Hardware, SMRC Depot and the like. The intention of the proposed work is to provide a more robust wearing surface and remove the risk of further defects.

The work proposed on Polo Flat Road is to refurbish the existing pavement by undertaking works to stabilise and mix the subbase and base layer of the pavement together with a light binder as well as provide a 40 mm AC Pavement with SAMI layer. The start of construction would be 20 m east from Baron Street intersection and terminating at 130 m east of Carlaminda Road intersection. The total length considered under this program is 1.07 km.
