Project description

The project will deliver a Detailed Business Case to inform the northern extension and other future lines for the Brisbane Metro and undertake some early and enabling works which would support expansion of the Metro service.

The Australian Government has committed $50 million towards this project.

Timetable

The delivery schedule will be determined in consultation with Brisbane City Council and Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
