Project description

The Project will develop a business case for a potential upgrade of Murdoch Station.

Benefits

The project will facilitate planning works necessary to inform a delivery investment decision in the future. The project responds to demands driven by population growth, including significant development of the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $5 million towards the project.

Timetable

The project is expected to be delivered within the 2028-29 financial year.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
