Project description

This project will create a new package of works to increase capacity and improve efficiency in Melbourne’s suburbs and surrounds. Projects will include:

  • 5-ways Intersection Safety Improvements - Planning

  • Berwick-Cranbourne Road/Clyde-Five Ways Road/Pattersons Road Intersection Upgrade

  • Calder Freeway and Calder Park Drive Interchange Upgrade

  • Central Avenue Upgrade

  • Donnybrook Road and Mitchell Street Intersection Upgrade

  • Drouin and Warragul Arterial Road Network – Planning

  • Evans Road Upgrade

  • High Street Road and Mowbray Drive Intersection Upgrade – Planning

  • Maroondah Highway and Yarra Road Intersection Upgrade – Planning

  • McLeod Road and Station Street Intersection Upgrade

  • Mickleham Road Upgrade - Stage 2

  • Nepean Highway and Overton Road Intersection Upgrade

  • Old Sydney Road Upgrade

  • Point Cook Road Upgrade (Jamieson Way to Dunnings Road) – Planning

  • Princes Highway and Harmer Road Resurfacing

  • Princes Highway Intersection Upgrades – Brunt Road and McMullen Road

Benefits

The Road Blitz will fund projects to improve network efficiency, travel times and road safety in key areas of Melbourne and its surrounds. These projects will also enhance liveability by improving access to employment and educational opportunities and increasing connectivity between regional and urban Victoria.

Funding

The Australian Government's commitment to the project is $1 billion, with the Victorian Government contributing $200 million.
