Project description

The project will support delivery of three key infrastructure planning priorities in South West Sydney:
•    Outer South West Housing Enablement Development Program
•    New Cumberland Line Program Preliminary Business Case
•    South and Inner West Rail Upgrade Program

Benefits

The project will support planning for future upgrades to key rail infrastructure in Western Sydney.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $20 million to this project.

Timetable

Delivery timeframes will be determined in consultation with the New South Wales Government.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
