Project description

The project will upgrade the existing intersection on Angus Smith Drive to improve access and traffic flow to and from James Cook University and the Townville University Hospital. The project may include the installation of traffic lights or a roundabout to improve traffic and reduce traffic congestion.

The upgraded intersection will reduce congestion and unlock potential for growth at James Cook University and the Townville University Hospital.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $30 million and the Queensland Government $30 million to the $60 million project.

Timetable

The Australian Government will determine timeframes in consultation with the Queensland Government.
