Project description

Surrounding urban area has been developed with kerb and gutter provided to address drainage issues and this is the remaining section to be K&G. Will eliminate pooling of water, erosion and subsequent deterioration of road.

Existing table drain will be excavated, gravel foundations developed, K&G installed, nature strip backfilled, seal extended between K&G and existing road. Existing power poles will also be relocated out of kerb alignment to behind kerb.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
