Project description

The existing pavement surface is showing signs of wear and routing. The road is under the care of Main Roads WA only for the width of the two trafficable lanes. Main Roads WA has already repaired the damaged pavement areas and is going to reseal the entire section of road going through town. Main Roads has invited the Shire of Boddington to take advantage of the mobilisation of all the equipment to extend the work area to the parallel parking areas that are situated on both side of the road. These on-road parking areas are under the care of the Shire of Boddington.

For this project it is proposed to do a micro surfacing (reseal) on the parking areas under the care of Shire of Boddington at the same time as the work executed by Main Roads WA. This will enhance the longevity of the already ageing seal and preserve the road pavement. Line marking will follow the work to ensure a clear delineation of traffic and parking lanes.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
