Project description

Pavement failure. This sealed gravel road shows block cracking, transverse and longitudinal cracking, pavement deformation, rutting and shoving, alligator cracking throughout the 600-metre section.

The failures illustrate road base and sub base issues and proposed method of improvement is a cement stabilised road base with road seal to improve the pavement design life. This project is being co-funded by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program Phase 4. Funding has been secured.
