Project description

Safety of cyclists and pedestrians. The project is to improve active transport routes around the North Bonville community by improving cycle lanes and intersections along Lyons Rd and constructing a new footpath. These outcomes are aligned with the Australian Government Infrastructure Policy Statement, Themes 2 (Liveability – Safety) and 3 (Sustainability - Reduce transport and infrastructure emissions).

The works include two main components along Lyons Road. Road works include safety upgrades to intersections and road widening along the route to accommodate refuges and improve the 1.5 m wide cycle lanes. Footpath works are to construct a 1.5 m wide path from De Castellar Drive to Toormina Road. Non-RTR funding from developer contributions (Section 7.11) $1,437,260.

Total cost of proposed project is $2,648,621
