Project description

The road will function as the primary connection to a new subdivision currently under development and requires upgrades to accommodate anticipated increase in traffic and access requirements. The current road was also identified as a high-priority area for upgrades in the LGA Road Conditions Assessment and is in poor condition, showing multiple localised failures. The planned upgrade aims to enhance safety, improve overall resilience, and resolve stormwater management challenges.

The project will widen over 600 metres of Yellow Rock road, installing new kerbing and guttering, re-grading the road, adding additional car parking spaces, upgrading intersections and access points, constructing a pedestrian refuge, creating a shared path, improving lighting, and enhancing stormwater infrastructure. Additionally, new signage and line marking will be installed. Project is funded through the following sources. Roads to Recovery - $3,150,000 Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program - $5,000,000 Shellharbour City Council - $2,755,370

Total cost of proposed project is $10,905,370
