Project description

Old Broome Road is a Local Distributor which forms the primary route into the town centre from the north. The road carries a significant volumes of local and tourist traffic. The Shire plans to undertake pavement rehabilitation and upgrades to ensure more continuous flow of vehicles and pedestrian traffic at peak times, while improving amenity, drainage, lighting and safety. The three key project goals are: 1. Rehabilitate existing deteriorating pavement and wearing course and replace old safety barriers and bridge rails. 2. Upgrade Sandpiper intersection to include additional southbound lane to improve flow of traffic at peak times. 3. Install new shared path.
