Project description

The Esher Street, Toohey Road and Sexton Street intersection has been identified as a location requiring an upgrade to improve traffic flow efficiency for all road users, reduce congestion, and enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists. During peak times, the Esher Street, Toohey Road and Sexton Street intersection is operating over capacity for the priority-controlled intersection, resulting in long queues on Esher Street. The high volume and priority on Toohey Road make it difficult for vehicles on Esher Street to turn right into Sexton Street. The project will upgrade the intersection of Esher Street, Toohey Road and Sexton Street intersection with the installation of new signals. The project will also include installation of fully controlled signalised pedestrian crossings across each leg of the intersection. Source of additional funding is Brisbane City Council.
