Project description

Woodlands Drive, Newhaven Close and Hendon Close are existing sealed roads in Lake Macquarie, situated within a rapidly growing urban area. Due to increased traffic volumes and the advanced age of the pavements, the roads have experienced significant structural failures. These ongoing issues have rendered routine maintenance ineffective and unsustainable. As a result, full reconstruction of the road is now necessary to ensure safety, functionality, and long-term resilience.

Road Rehabilitation and drainage improvement along 3 suburban streets in Balmoral. Council will fund the balance of the total project cost.

Total cost of proposed project is $2,800,000

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
