Project description

The existing road surface, kerbing, and certain drainage components have deteriorated and reached the end of their service life. Replacement is necessary to ensure continued safety and functionality.

Replacement of kerbing along the entire section Road resurfacing (overlay) to improve surface condition Installation of a 1.5-metre-wide new footpath to enhance pedestrian safety Supplementary funding for this project will be sourced from the City of Kwinana’s municipal funds.

Total cost of proposed project is $400,445

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
