Project description

Existing cul-de-sac has structure cracking within road surface, kerbing is broken from inadequate turning circle for rubbish trucks. The cracking and damage to kerbing allows water to access the sub-base which impacts the surface structure and asset condition resulting in a poor condition rating.

Reconstruction of the cul-de-sac to increase the turning circle and improve the road surface. Cul-de-sac surface will be asphalted, and full road will be re-sealed.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
