Project description

Deformed asphalt surface has been identified through road inspections. The pavement surface has changed from the originally constructed profile which may directly influence the riding quality, water ponding and skid resistance. Resurfacing this road will improve road performance with regards to strength and riding quality.

40 mm thick size 14 asphalt - Type H wearing course along 190 metre and 10 metre width (Area = 1900 m2).

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
