Project description

The purpose of the project is to reconstruct the existing road pavement for a section of Costin Street between Pengilley Avenue and Montrose Avenue). Several issues have been reported by the hospital and local community related to drainage, road widening and pedestrian accessibility issues. The project has the following benefits: 1. Restore the road surface to a safe and trafficable condition. 2. Increase the level of service provided to the community in respect of drainage

The scope of works includes the reconstruction of Costin Street between Pengilley Avenue and Montrose Avenue, increasing the width of the existing pavement to 7.2m, improvement of existing subgrade using mechanical and chemical stabilisation, asphalt overlay and minor drainage works. Kerb and channel is to replace the existing open swale roadside drains. The project is to include all necessary works to provide a fit for purpose industry road, with a design life of 20 years.
