Project description

Section of the road is in poor condition with crocodile cracks, rutting and high roughness causing safety concerns to road users. Council have received requests to improve the road and detailed investigation confirmed that pavement structure requires significant improvement to meet the level of services for the community. The project involves reconstructing the pavement structure between Little Blue Gum Creek and Blue Gum Creek. Works will include excavation of the existing pavement to depths ranging from 110 mm to 150 mm, followed by reconstruction with a 100 mm AC20 asphalt concrete base layer and a 50 mm AC14 asphalt wearing course. Additional works include the installation of approximately 360 m of swale drain along the rock wall, upgrades to existing stormwater pits, resurfacing of shoulder car parks, and reinstatement of line markings and signage.
